Shell and Kernel Separator
When establishing oil milling plant in areas of increased cottonseed and sunflower seed yields, it is very important to select the best equipment for sifting dehulled oilseeds. This series kernel husk separator made by us is the ideal choice, and works by exploiting the different weights and specific gravities of the hulls and kernel for perfect separation.
Features of theShell and Kernel Separator
The shell and kernel separator is characterized by low power consumption. The rate of hull to kernel can be adjusted in accordance with customers’ requests. The equipment consists of a feed inlet, triple-deck auger kernel husk separator, kernel auger conveyor and drive mechanism.

Working Principle of Shell and Kernel Separator
The hulled mixture of kernels and shells are put into the upper auger to transport the kernels into triple deck kernel husk separator. The kernel, which is heavier and smaller, can pass through the screen holes and fall into the kernel auger at the bottom along the slideway; at the same time, the still hulled kernels and the hulls are transported to the second stage auger conveyor. Here they are processed by the second layer’s screen. Those remaining are then sent to the third and final screen. In the entire process there are three stages to ensure complete separation of the hulls. The kernels are expelled and then transported by the kernel auger conveyor to next procedure while the hulls are destined for storage. Hulls, prior to storage, may also be put into the hull beater to reduce the rate of kernels in the hull.
