Oil Milling Process
Oil milling needs a lot of technology and certain professional oil milling machinery. Maximum oil recovery with minimum power consumption must be taken into account in the oil milling process. However, the oil milling process means pressing section in the entire oil mill plant.
The typical oil milling plant usually has the following sections, pre-treatment, cooking, pressing and filtering of crude oil.
Full pressing is usually applied for smaller capacity oil milling plants. Pre-pressing however are more suitable for larger capacity oil milling.
Single pressing machine will be used in this process. These machines work on the principle of mechanical extraction and extracts oil from the seeds. Seeds which have high oil content, double pressing should be incorporated for maximum yield. For pre-pressing where the initial oil is extracted by mechanical pressing and then the pre-pressed cake is sent to the Solvent Extraction Plant. Pre-pressing is a traditional method to process the high oil-contented oilseed.
